What's included in 'boxed' version for the extra $'s? Hard copy manual? Tech Sheet?

I wouldn't call it the best as the AI is still pretty shabby. If it weren't for the pirates in Pirates expansion it would still be pretty lax in challenge value.

It's just not aggressive enough and when it is it only has like 2 planets and I got zillions. It's a laugh at best.
