Order of March

Dear friends,

Please tell me if I made good understanding of the rules.

When we build our armies, we need to note down the order of march, so a army with 8 BGs has a deployment 2-2-2-2. Then we must number these bgs from 1 to 8. The players place alternatively the first batch which includes bgs 1 and 2, the second batch bgs 3 and 4 and so on.

The batches could have BGs of any type, for example a skirmish and a heavy foot and each BG could be placed anywhere on the table: in this case, the skirmishers ahead in the center, and the HF behind in the right side (respecting the distance from the rears for each troop type)

To add to what Pete said, yes, you have it correct. The only time that this changes is when you remove some troops from the pool for ambush/outflank reasons.

So, using your example, you have 8 BG's like this.

1 = LI
2 = LH
3 = HF
4 = HF
5 = Cv
6 = Cv
7 = Art
8 = HF.

Now, you decide that you're going to put 2 BG's (1 & 3) into ambush. You would now deploy in this order.

2&4
5&6
7&8
Nothing.

Similar with outflanks.

What you do NOT do is deploy:
2
4
5 & 6
7 & 8

The 'gaps' are taken up by the next BG in order.
