Just got word from the Slitherine, V65 update scheduled for 1st June 2015.

This is the full change list for the new update:

New features:
- Fog of war.
- New VO for various events.
- New Elite AI.
- Hex tile grid can be toggled on and off.
- Vietcong units have new animation when disbanding after combat.
- Villages play effects when H&M changes.
- Combat bonuses and penalties for terrain, spotting and weather.
- Helicopters do not get defensive bonuses.
- Ambushed units do not get defensive bonuses.
- New units are given names.
- Names for units are customisable.
- Weather.
- M113 has detection when carrying friendly infantry.
- VC cadres are more evasive and reactive.
- New option to include units with active incomplete missions in the unit cycle.
- Custom game mode
- AI Difficulty.
- Fixed or random starting loadout.
- Starting funds
- Victory mode (turn based/H&M based)
- Weather severity
- Jungle density
- Starting H&M
- Game duration
- Alternate defeat (loss after 5 turns of negative PP)

Fixes:
- Rocks can no longer spawn under US bases in all cases.
- [STEAM] Fixed stat tracking for a few veteran-related achievements.
- [PC] S hotkey works correctly.
- Fixed minor typos.
- Enemy units no longer sometimes move further than they should.
- A number of exploits involving dying US units are no longer possible.
- PP value correctly displays a 0.
- Engineers clearing mines correctly add instead of reduce H&M of nearest village.

Changes:
- Disabled some overused audio clips.
- US units automatically gather intelligence if they start their turn in a village. No need to perform another action.
- Current game mode displayed on intelligence map.
- New effects.
- Movement rules for units adjusted slightly.
- Infantry are now better at moving through jungle than vehicles.
- Vehicles are affected by poor weather more severely than infantry.
- Can now select all buildings.
- Emergency air resupply no longer carries fuel.
- Control and selection modifications, and various UI updates.
- [PC] Can deselect units while they are moving.
- Can only supply drop on tiles with valid friendlies.
- Can only air strike on tiles with visible enemies.
- Audio updates.
- Tweaked camera bounds and parameters slightly.
- Damaged vehicles have wrench icon instead of red cross.
- Units no longer appear in the unit cycle if all they can do is indirect fire but there are no valid targets for them.
- [PC] Custom cursor.
- [PC] Action buttons arrange along the bottom of the screen.
- UI updates.

Looks like an update that was much needed. I look forward to giving V65 a go, hopefully the game that occupies my spare time for a good while.

I havent seen such active support from a developer in quite some time, kudos to Vietnam65 and my thanks for all the efforts.

I was waiting for an update like this to really dig into the game. Thank you for not disappointing us. And as always, wishing you well sales-wise. There's so much junk out there, it's tough for gems like this to stand out. OOB Pacific is another awesome game of late.

This game does the DEMO on the PC version !? The screenshots and the video is good but before I pay I would like to try )

at the price it's at, it's too cheap tbh, and well worth the tiny amount it's priced at in anyone books, you won't need to try before you buy with this game, it's solid and really fun to play, and is a bargin :wink:
