Being able to pass control of a unit to the other player in co-op.

My friend and I like to play co-op, but he is better at using armor, and I have a knack with infantry. We often wish we could give each other units from our pool. It would allow us to fluidly change command of groups that get split up geographically, or give one of us something to play with if we lose too many of our own during the game.

(posting this in the correct forum this time, paying attention is what would be great)

We discussed this IIRC, but decided that part of the fun on Coop design was in deciding what troops each player had, and forcing them to coordinate in different way. Not sure off the top of my head whether you could mod in an order of that nature.
