Scrumpy Paul decided to run a FoG mini much like DBM 200 mini irish modifications.

I must say at first I thought he was embarking on a bad idea. But after 3 rounds today I must say I was wrong. It worked surprisingly well. So cheers Paul.

Specs
400 points.
1/2 max and min of available bases but BGs requirements stayed. And you can't lose the ability to have a BG. So mob 8-12 can still be a mob of 8.
Generals were half price. And a minium of 1 sub general. (maybe next time 2 subs allowed)
board was 30"x48"
Deployment was 10" and 6"
terrain was limited to normal size. Shifting and size was 2/3rds. Only 1-2 optional pieces allowed
Time 2 hours.

THis was a rise of Rome only.

The resulting armies were 7-10 BGs.

Out of 9 games 7 had a decisive result.

We discussed a few tweaks, but everyone was quite happy with the results and fast games. I encourage others to experiment with this.

That sounds like fun.

Maybe after the Bunny Tournament a few locals will give it a try.

Thanks Dan.

The results were as follows... 3 pts for breaking the enemy, 2 for a winning draw, 1 for a losing draw & 0 for being broken. 3 rounds in a day.

1) Dan Hazelwood Bosphoran 9 out of 9
2) Roger Taylor Late Rep. Roman 5/9
3) Tom Black Later Jewish 3/3
4) Bill McCampbell Late Rep. Roman 3/6
5) Dave Ray Late Rep. Roman 3/9
6) Mark Bumala Gallic 3/9
7) Paul Woolerton Later Jewish 0/9

Thanks to all for turning up and enjoying what was an experiment to try and see if it worked.

Also, a big thanks to our local store Game Parlor Chantilly for providing a copy of Immortal Fire as a prize.

As someone pointed out on one of the yahoo lists, this is a great way to get some experience and try out 25mm. Also the number of figures needed closer to like BBDBA type armies.
