Hi, last turn of the Midway scenario, I cleared the sea from any Japanese ship, destroyed all the carriers and the invasion force, did not loose any carrier and Midway is in my hand but ...... I was defeated. :o
Can someone clarify what is happened or what I am missing here.

Thank you.

Hi Apec, it's hard to say from tour description. Do you have a savegame you could upload that we could take a look at?

Hi Myrddraal, I have attached the savegame, hope that helps. I guess I am missing a piece of info but I cannot figure what it is. Thank you very much for your help. In the meantime I have started the japanese campaign. :D

regards,

Hi Myrddraal, I have attached another file from the Coral Sea scenario in the Japanese campaign. Around turn 5 I got a message that my carriers were spotted and therefore I failed to complete the objective "keep your carriers hidden for ten turns". Oddily enough, now at the start of the turn 13 I see the same objective as completed. Note that my carriers were constantly followed by 1 or 2 recon planes.

Thank you very much for your attention.

regards

The surprise for me on this scenario was that the map had so little land.

It might be an interesting variation if there were enough landmass to enable some ground based combat in the event of the invasion force landing?

It's not exactly a big island.

True.
It might be a scale issue, but as it is at the moment there isn't enough room for the invasion force to land.

:)

Think of it as a concession to game play balance. The designers know that one or more of the transports will likely be sunk by the US forces. But the Japanese only need to land ONE unit to win the scenario. The extras are simply insurance.

I had a similar problem as well. Unfortunately the game decided that my entire campaign was over :( In addition there was another scenario where I sunk a carrier but the game did not give me credit for it. I hope this gets fixed because it is quite annoying to make it halfway through a campaign and have to start over because of a bug.

I guess the developer are looking after this issue. As a work-around solution I used the cheat code to force a victory in this scenario so that I can progress through my campaign. Now I am really enjoing the Guadalcanal scenario. I know it is not very elegant but .... it worked

Although I didn't have a crushing victory like that, I did meet the criteria for a win but didn't get it. Campaign ended. Any news on this?
Don't mind playing the scenario a second time as it's fun but not if the same thing happens again!
