Any thoughts why I might be getting this error?
I got the same error trying to install to the default C:\Slitherine directory too.

Okay, all I ended up doing was clicking "Ignore" and the game appears to have completed installation successfully.

Good to hear the game runs, if something does go wrong I suggest you try redownloading the installer however.
