Hi all
Just wondering what you do when you play a teams game ?
If you were playing a 2 vs 2 game how many points a player would you do for an evening game , say 3 hours max duration ?
If one army breaks is the battle over ?
So maybe 500 points a player ?
Play until one army breaks ?
Any ideas ? Thanks

If you only have 3 hours then I would chose 900-1000pts. Though if you are not fast players (at least one on each side). You may not be finishing the games to a conclusion, almosty certainly will not. But if you go for any less points you may well find that there are not enough BGs to go around. I have played a couple of larger games. A medieval; Portuguese vs Castilian at 1500 pts which took 4.5 hours with pre set terrain and a Biblical; New Kingdom vs Ugaritc at 1600 which took 6 hours including placing terain.

In the BHGS doubles we played 1000 points between 2 players and about half the games finished within 3 1/2 hours. The Northern league is 900 point doubles on a slightly shorter time frame and roughly half the games finished IIRC.
I would definitly not go lower than 800 points.
It all depends on how fast you play really.

Ok thanks
but if each player takes a seperate 500 point army , how do you decide victory ?
Do you play until one army breaks ? Thats would make the game come to a quicker solution ?
Or do you total the BG's on one side ?

Generally what we do is have a single army of 900 or 1000 points and the two players share the responsibility of moving the figures and rolling the dice.
If you play with two armies of 500 I suggest you treat it as one army for the purposes of victory. For example, if your army is 10 BG and your partner's is 8 BG then you both keep fighting until you have lost 18 Attrition points between you.

Normally in the UK you play doubles with a single army of (say) 1000 AP with each player controlling a set number of BGs, usually mutually agreed at the start of each game.
You could play with seperate armies of (say) 500AP with 2 commanders each, but I suggest you only allow armies that were historically allied to prevent the Romans + Serb knight ally effect
If using allied armies the break point should be based on the sum of the two allied armies, not by individual army.
