I have the same problem, plus the game won't allow me to do anything until I update...which I can't do...

Is there any way to launch the game without updating? I've tried about six times to download the "patch", but when I get to about 350MB I get cut off. I don't believe it's my ISP or my network because I download multiple GB files on a regular basis. I'm in the Congo, and my connection is slow (usually between about 12kB/s and 120kB/s), but it does work. But if I can't play the game without the update it looks like I'll have to shelve it until I go back the States in October...

You should be able to just cancel past the update prompt, although you won't be able to play MP.

Thanks Pip - it's the ability to MP that I was whinging about. I'm in the middle of both a "campaign" and testing my own scenarios with a friend back home. Still trying to download the update ("7 hours, 25 minutes remaining" on this attempt...). If I edit/create my scenarios without the update in place will they be playable on an updated version?

Can you confirm you are trying to download the OSX update?

I finally got it. Took 16 days of almost constant trying, but I finally got it downloaded. Had to use a VPN and change my DNS settings from 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.
