This idea struck me when I read some reviews that Armageddon game mechanics are similar to that of PzC. What about close combat game mechanic in warhammer settings? Surely, the idea of another real time strategy game for Warhammer 40k would appeal to many players/wargamers especially after the success of Dawn of War 1 and 2. It is also making good use of both franchises, it is almost like a pair made in heavens =)

Think about it, cheers!

Define "close combat".

Do you mean the game series?

Just to elaborate the flavors of what my suggestion are, I have made a WH40k adaptation from the Close combat product page on this website:

With Close Combat: WH 40K you can play at the strategic and tactical level, putting yourself in the boots of both the generals and the platoon commanders. You can move or combine your battlegroups on the strategic level and decide the outcome of battles on the tactical level. You will command squads in close combat situations, using Bolters, Lascannons, Krak grenades, Leman Russ, and Predator tanks to triumph against the xenos. You command artillery and mortar barrages and even orbital strikes. You will get to know individual solders, platoons, battalions, and the larger brigades and battle groups which they comprise.

Players can experience the desperate situation of the outnumbered, but well-armed Cadian 153rd Regiment, or the daunting offensive mission of the fully-supported eldar infantry advancing across the treacherous Silicon Valley. At your command are Land Raiders, speeders, Rhinos, Chimeras, Whirlwind Tanks and more. Fire Prism, Nob Squad, Wartraks, and looted tanks will arrive to Xeno's assault as they try to break the line against a concerted Imperial defense.

The historic scope of Operation GreenCase is captured in single battles, operations, and the grand campaign. The strategic battlefield offers over two dozen individual battlefields with over three dozen accurately portrayed Imperial and Xeno battle groups. Imperial infantry regimental history is reflected in name among the various battalions. You can deploy your battalions as they actually fought in the struggle for the Justice. The game includes all new maps and a range of upgraded effects.

Sounds cool right?
