The unit is in effect a abstraction of a gunship unit. They DID actually go out and troll for enemy action. I suggest the unit get a one to detection as a result.
From a balancing perspective, the Cobra is already a very powerfull unit. I see your point, but I'm not sure if this would not unbalance the game. The Cobra is already smewhat op inmho.Seytan wrote:The unit is in effect a abstraction of a gunship unit. They DID actually go out and troll for enemy action. The Cobra has fuel for 4 turns. As it is the range on this unit isn't that great. The fuel limitation as it is constrains the unit as a foreward deployed asset. You simply cannot loiter in a foreward area as a result. So I frankly don't see a problem allowing a unit class that spent quite a bit of their time doing precisely what im talking about, trolling for enemy to shoot at them so they could kill them :}. Just my two bits. I am wrong sometimes.Sabratha wrote:From a balancing perspective, the Cobra is already a very powerfull unit. LOL well anyway just a thought. Points are tough at the start and to win hearts and minds you have to employ your infantry. So what do you buy, the supply state of units means you need more helos just to keep everyone in bullets and c rats. Anyway as I said it was a though.Vietnam65 wrote:In earlier versions of the model the cobra did in fact have a detection range, but became too powerful and the game became a few cobra's roaming the jungle and we would have to change the name to Gunship'65
