aloha,

the problem, my friend and i have is:

since we both got v1.06 we cannot reload any multiplayer-savegame ?!

we've played allready three games with the old version (no problems with save-games), but after we both got v1.06 we can start new tcpip-games, but cannot reload a save-game anymore !

when i (or my friend) join to play as host with the reloaded savegame and the other does join the game - the circle runs for some seconds and then the game "crashes" to the menue.

please help us !

You cannot load old saves from 1.04 or 1.05 with the 1.06 version. If you save from 1.06 does it still not work?
It sounds like a router problem, since you get the circle moving for a few seconds.
Other problem could be that one of you 2 are using some mod of any data files.

thanks 4 answering !

it's not the issue, that we cannot load old save games (we don't expect them to work still with 1.06), but we cannot load savegames made with 1.06

we still both have the same configuration and we can open a new tcp/ip-game. but after saving the game we are not able to load it again ?!

with opening a new game we get the circle for some seconds - and it works well
BUT
starting a 1.06-savegame we both get the circle and after about 5 seconds the game chrashes to the main-menue

we never had such a problem with the old version ?!

some additional information:
.) we both don't have vista
.) we both use the german-version of 1.06

Try both players making a fresh install of the game, then apply patch and see if it makes any difference.

Does this effect single player saves or only multiplayer? Does the problem only occur when loading a saved game from your opponents machine? Can the Vista player ensure they are "Running as Administrator".

We think we may have found the problem. A recent windows update seems to have cut compability with teh Java version we were using. We have since upgraded to a newer version (the reason we avoided doing this sooner was to avoid introducing bugs!). If you are experiencing this problem please try the Beta patch here http://www.slitherine.com/files/ceaw/pa ... hotfix.exe

If it helps let us know so we can make it official.
