hello

Are Huns going to be LH or cav or possibly a bit of both? are do they get the option to be superior?

We accept the view that steppe nomad culture was fairly consistent and that steppe nomad armies were highly flexible in their deployment and tactical options.

Hence all steppe nomad "light horse archers" in FOG get a free choice of being

LH, Unprotected, Bow, Swordsmen
Cavalry, Unprotected, Bow, Swordsmen
Cavalry, Protected, Bow, Swordsmen

or any mixture thereof. (Although each BG must be homogenous)

Hun "light horse archers" get the option of being Average or Superior.

There are two separate Hunnic main lists in "Legions Triumphant": Western Hunnic and Hephthalite Hunnic. (Also Sabir Hunnic and Chionite Hunnic ally lists).

Thank you Mr Scott, some of us have Huns in waiting for the offical lists.

Would this hold true for Chinese auxilleries?

If you mean nomads in Chinese service, yes, unless there is some special reason to treat them differently. Some of very early ones might not get the Protected option. Cimmerian and Skythian light horse archers don't.

One of the design policies in FoG lists is to avoid spurious differences between similar troops resulting from over-interpretation of limited evidence, when a broader understanding of the history (or in this case steppe nomad culture) suggests that it is more likely that they fought in much the same way.
