Errata, Army list and Attachments

In the Emperors and Eagle errata and corrections July 2013, "artillery attachments counts towards the min and max bases permitted in the main list of E and E only". Would this also apply to the Anglo-Portuguese army 1810-1811 and the Spainish army 1810-1812 in the Field of Glory Napoleonic rule book?

I understand that the army list stated above are legal and that the update in the E&E was brought in to limit the amount of artillery available to armies in Spain. If this is correct shouldn't the restrictions apply?

The list book supersede the lists in the rules. The list rules were included to give players something to work with while the list books were in production. Therefore people should not be using the lists for the Anglo-Portuguese or Spanish from the rules.

Why is there an issue with using the army list out of the rule book? If you are playing in a tournament where the organisers have allowed for ALL army lists from E&E and ToN, then is there a problem? It is certainly not an historical one.

The rule book list were designed as a general list to get players going, some of the basic lists seem to cover the years before and after the the actual date listed in the Army List title but why is that an issue when playing in an open tournament. If the Basic List are too generous or strong "which I belive some are" then why can't changes be made in the errata online, it has already been done once already! Examples could be deleting all "Guard Shock Cav" or reducing the number of attachments allowed. It would be a backward step if everyone started using the basic list!!!

Yes! we do want to encourage new players to get the the Army List Books and explore the different campaigns that are available. But their is a resource that is sitting at the end of the rule book being wasted. This should be used as a stepping stone to encourage new players into the FOG tournament community.

What do you think?
