Roman campaign locked?

Hi everybody

When I finished Celt campaign on "normal" I thought about starting roman campaign on "hard", but I found it locked and hat to replay the two battles of the latins tutorial (not much of a trouble, indeed). I played celts campaign on "hard" too and see if I could unlock the roman campaign this way, but it forced me to replay the tutorial too. I suppose it isn't a bug but a feature, but I just want to be sure.

I have another question too. Is experience based only in number of kills or the type of unit does count for it too? I mean, if you kill 1 hastati you get the same experience as in killing (let's say) 10 militia?

bye

Let me just check - you're saying when complete the Celt campaign it locks the Roman campaign?

When you play the Latin campaign it then unlocks the Roman campaign?

Did the Celt campaign ever get locked?

It sounds like a bug - I dont remember us doing anything like this :)

Experience is based on your quality vs the quality of the unit killed.

1.) Yes. I played a roman campaign on normal, unlocked the celt campaign and when I finished it, roman campaign was lock again

2.) Yes.

3.) Yes, at the very beggining, now is perpetually unlocked  . Maybe I messed something up with the save files or something.

All of the campaign should remain unlocked so it is the Roman campaign that is misbehaving, but at least you only have to play 2 simple missions to unlock it.

We had a brief power outage here the other night, by concidence on the first occasion that I played the newly installed full game. I had completed the tutorial and spent roughly the next hour or so toying around with the early Roman battles to get the feel of the game, and had even saved a couple of early missions, when the lights went out. When power was restored and stable for a while, I rebooted the computer and restarted the game. Oddly, the Roman campaign was locked again, so I had to play through the tutorial a second time to unlock it. There's no way to load a saved game from the tutorial, so I couldn't access the prior saves. I'm curious if the "unlocked" status is only saved upon quitting the game, or whether the power outage did something to the files which Windows didn't find or report.

Yes, the tutorial & locked status are not linked to saved games, but instead to play sessions. If you were shut down without cleanly exiting the game it would now know about it & put you through the tutorial again.

NB you can play the tutorial battles without reading the tutorial messages by closing the tutorial text box down. It will still unlock the Roman campaign.

Send to info@slitherine.co.uk. Thanks!
