30" monitor

I have a 30" Dell ultra sharp monitor on my PC. I purchased both BA games and installed them. It goes to the first screen then when it tries to update the program goes crazy and all I get is a larger black pulsating box on the top left of my screen. It freezes my mouse and I am forced to manually shutdown the computer, Ctrl alt delete will not even shut the malfunctioning program down.
Fortunately I bought the Mac version of the program which works perfectly in the iMac 27 " screen and it also works on my 17" Dell laptop. Is anyone else having this problem? Slitherine says its my 30" monitor and they have no fix,
Same thing happens with shot and pike,

I have a 23" and 24" monitor that play the game fine at 1680x1050. I would suggest updating the video drivers and try setting the resolution down some on the monitor to see if that helps? Do any games work on that monitor?

I solved the problem by using the win 7 compatibility settings, I just clicked them all and it is now working just fine. I do have problems occasionally but most programs work just fine. Thanks for the input.

I run the game (in fact develop it) on a 4K monitor, so you should have no issues. Try the following:
- delete the OPTIONS.TXT file from My Documents/My Games/BA2, then run the game and see what happens.
- try manually setting the game resolution to your monitor resolution (the game defaults to the desktop resolution BUT some video hardware tweaks the actual desktop SIZE to non-valid values to fix monitor overscan). To do this open the OPTIONS.TXT file and set the REZX and REZY values.
- try forcing it to windowed mode (set the FULLSCREEN value in the options file to 1) and try different resolutions.
Cheers
Pip

Thanks, one of your co workers mentioned the problem was the 30" monitor, thanks for the tip. I have gotten all the games I bought from you to work using the win 7 compatibility mode adjustments. I'm going to try to run it, via HDMI, on my 75" ultra 4k monitor.
