Allied Corps difficulty (compared with the other games)

Hello,
I'm quite new to Panzer Corps.
I first bought Allied Corps back in november last year (thanks to a promotion).
The campaign was going well until I reached Crusader.
I tried several times but I always lost and stopped.
Note that I play with the default difficulty setting: colonel and everything on (randomness, weather, fog of war)
Recently I read some guides (thanks to all people who wrote them, if you read this) and started again.
Again everything was going well until I reached Crusader.
I found out forum posts with tips for this map. It looks like I'm not the only one to have difficulties there, which is a bit reassuring.
Thanks to the tips in those posts I could finally win the map, but it was very close. 1 more turn and I would have lost some core units.
Then I won Cauldron, the next map, on my first trial. Again it was very close, as for Crusader, 1 more turn and I would have lost some core units. And ... Well, sorry for the 150th...
I had a look at the map and I'm wondering how we are supposed to have a triumph with such an overwhelming ennemy army. Its like there is one unit per hex on the west.
Then I won 1st Alamein on the 1st try as well. I found it a bit easier than the previous 2 (I did not have a very good army setup for this map, yet I managed the victory with no core loss).
Then I found 2nd Alamein even easier, I could quite easily take 4 positions and then I defended until the end.
From Crusader, I'm talking about standard victory (with no core loss, this is a requirement for my gameplay). Triumph is out of reach for me (at least with my settings).
Also, as you can read I feel like the difficulty is going down, maybe to go up badly later on ?.
Now the real question is:
Is Allied Corps more difficult than Panzer Korps, Afrika Korps and/or Grand Campaign ?
Or is the difficulty also quite variable during those campaigns ?
Imarion.
PS: thanks for reading all this
PS2: english is not my mother tongue.
