Being interested in buying the game it would be nice to understand the quality of the AI.
Is it at the level of Field of Glory or poses soma major threat than that game?
Thank's a lot for any reply!

Hi Lysimachos,
The thread that Richard has pointed you to covers the subject pretty thorougly, but just thought I'd add a comment now I've had the game a few months. Before buying P & S I had similar doubts to the ones you've expressed, after my underwhelming FoG experience. As someone who isn't keen on multiplayer, the AI is the big issue for me with any new pc game, and it finally ruined FoG for me.
In contrast, I've been really happy with the AI in Pike & Shot. It provides a challenging game, doesn't do dumb things, doesn't easily forgive mistakes on the part of the human player, and can be adjusted to make it increasingly tough. After playing around one game a day since it came out, I'm still more than happy with the game the AI gives me. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed if you give it a try.

P&S is one of the few games out there that can defeat any average wargamer.
There is a steep learning curve which must be mastered before one is competent enough to beat the ai.
It reminds me of Panzer Korps, another stellar simulation, which many people complain is too difficult.
If you are up to the challenge, it will give you all the opposition you could ask.
If you do ever master the ai, the multiplayer aspects of this game are the best I have seen.
Check out the Caracole thread to experience the ongoing excitement happening around here.
I have played only 11 multiplayer games myself, not nearly enough, and it shows by my regular losses.
