This seems an interesting looking army but it looks weakish against Knights.

But here is a try at a first list:

Generals IC, TCx3 - this may be excessive but I want the +2 from the IC to maximize chance of picking terrain and match ups in deployment

1 Irish Kerns LF Unprotected Average Undrilled Javelins Light spear - - 6
2 Irish Kerns LF Unprotected Average Undrilled Javelins Light spear - - 6
3 Irish Kerns MF Protected Average Undrilled - Light spear - - 6
4 Galloglaich HF Protected Superior Undrilled - Heavy weapon Heavy weapon - 8
5 Galloglaich HF Protected Superior Undrilled - Heavy weapon Heavy weapon - 8
6 Justiciar's Longbowmen MF Protected Average Drilled Longbow - Swordmen - 6
7 Justiciar's Men-at-Arms Kn Heavily armoured Average Drilled - Lancers Swordmen - 4
8 Irish Horse LH Unprotected Average Undrilled Javelins Light spear - - 6
9 Colonish Longbowmen MF Protected Average Undrilled Longbow - Swordmen - 6

Only 2 subgenerals are allowed. The 3rd TC will have to be an ally general and his contingent must conform to the Anglo-Irish allies list.

Even without stakes I think that the longbow will do quite well against knights (although that could be leftover DBM-think). Especially since you will be deploying a lot of them last. In fact, my guess is that you would have a harder time against pike or impact foot than knights.

Not too sure about longbow standing up to kights without stakes. I played Anglo Irish against Portuguese last week and three units of longbow were minced by two units of knights.

I have use the non-stake version of the Anglo-Irish army several times, and found it to be very defensive or slow on the attack because of the need to avoid one's longbows being ridden down in the open.

Having now used a WoR army with stakes, I am definitely sold on them. Do not leave home without them!

Apparently my notion that longbows would stand up to knights without stakes has been exploded. I guess this means I need to play more. :)

Well the question is also can your army survive the collapse of 1-2 Bgs of Longbow and do you ahve something to counterstrike the folks riding them down.

I think I am in favor of 3 Bgs of 6 rather than 2 Bgs of 8 for Longbow for exactly this reason. I figure 1 unit is likley to get overun and the other two keep going.
