Modelling unit commanders

I'm a big fan of having musicians, standard bearers and commander types mixed in with my rank and file. With 3-4 figures to a base, I'm not sure how I'd do it for Field of Glory.

I'm planning 28mm. Anyone have any suggestions or examples?

Thanks.

He Coyote,

I would suggest making one base per BG a "command" base.
That way you can add your character figures.

I am doing an army in 6mm and I did what Rene suggested. I have one stand in my BG with a standard bearer and it looks really good. I have also experimented with splitting the command figures over 2 bases so that they are more in the middle of the BG. this has also worked really well but I don't know how it will look if they went out of formation.

I would have one 'command' base per BG for colour. If you are using 6mm then you might be able to make it so each file of troops represents a unit and have standards and commanders in each.

I agree that would look good, but I calculated it would be cheaper in pack terms to just have one standard per battle group. It still looks quite nice

I do love 6/10mm scale, but would still be doing 1 command per BG, not file. For me, 10mm is not to get more units on the table, but to get a small figure:man scale.
