Regarding the Mid Republican Roman army list can someone tell me how the Allied Legions work? I take it you cannot combine regular legions (from the core troops) and add an allied legion so that you say have 2 Roman legions and a 3rd Allied Legion based off of page 10? If you take an allied legion do you have to only select troops from that Ally, and thus from page 10. I was looking for a way to get an extra cavarly BG and thought this was the way to go.
Thanks for any insights
Brian

Allied alae (not legions) are classified exactly the same as normal legions, and are taken from the main list, not from the Allied list on P.10. The purpose of the list on P.10 is so that you can make a Mid-Republican Roman ally for Hellenistic Greeks in "Immortal Fire".
You cannot get an extra cavalry BG - the list limits you to historically realistic proportions.

Thanks for the info. I just wasn't sure. From reading the army list it sounded to me like you could. Keep in mind this is the first ancients army list I have read or used. But I do want to stay historical.
Thanks again
