Good Morning from Spain
Hello, first FoG and its army list books are a very good job, well done.
But in the Medieval Castilian list I cannot include any english allies. In the Castilian Civil War, Pedro I vs Enrique de las Mercedes, the english army of Eduard (el Principe Negro) won the battle of Najera (1367), among other castilian troops (with Pedro I and the son of Mallorca King). Hugo (Hugh) Clavely fought with and againts Pedro too.
Cheers and sorry my bad english

Allied contingents in the lists are not based on political alliances, nor even campaign alliances, but only on alliances that fought on the battlefield together in substantial numbers.
If I recall correctly, we did not allow it because the army at Najera was almost entirely English with few Castillian troops apart from the exiled Pedro. It certainly would not qualify as a Castillian army with English allies. We did not even deem the Castillian contingent substantial enough to allow an English army with Castillian allies.

Thanks for the answer, Richard, but I disagree with you. If we read Pero Lopez de Ayala (in Andonain´s book), a famous antipetrista (anti-Peter) we may discover a big army supported Pedro; only in March (1367) 600 castilian knights joint Peter´s army. In the same Najera battle 1/2 of Enrique´s Army changed army and they fought with Pedro. And the navarrese troops? 300 lancers (about 1.500 navarrese troops, 5 men for "navarrese lance") joint Pedro´s army in Navarra. And the King of Mallorca´s son had a castilian mercenary army with Pedro´s.
Cheers and thanks again

What percentage of an overall army would an allied force have to be to be counted in these rules then ?
Cheers

Hmm, I don't recall that we have specified an actual percentage. Of the top of my head, let's say 15-20%.
