Please, i have a question about this:

If a BG of 8 pikes changes formation to ORB, the rules says this new formation fights with 1 rank width, 2 ranks deep towards any direction. When an enemy BG charges to them to one of his four front ranks, how is the conformation to the ORB BG?

The ORB BG has to real bases to each front but count as only one when fighting, so, the charging group must conform to what: left, right bases, or to middle point of the BG front?
