Just wonderin if Ceaw will be enhanced/altered to make the AI less daft also it seems that the game is set up for more 2play pbem i feel that i kinda got rooked with my purchase of this game .....i thought it was a WW2 game that would be awesome.....but it seems once more i must refuse to buy a game until i play it first(demo) also i purchased SC2 and at least in that game if something is daft e.g units/events/production i can just change it and i am tech/comp retarded Ceaw is an ok game but has no replay value and since i only got half a game i should only be charged half-price!!!!
P.S In no way im a trying to say i can do better but if i rebuild an engine and make it only work halfway i get a beatin and no money
P.P.S Thanx for at least tryin maybe with the money ya swindled from me ya can make the next game better!

The game does exactly what it set out to. If that's not what you wanted then sorry, but it's not really our fault!

The AI is as good as any other WW2 game out there so if you expected it to be better in some way then sorry! Have you tried it on the hardest setting? Do you play with Fog of War on and oil? These all make the game tougher.
Accusations that you have been swindled will not be tolerated.

My own opinion does not matter, since I am biased making the game but I point to that we have more than 10 reviews from other sites and almost everyone has rated the game around 80%-90%, an amazing achievement and something that would have been kind off impossible if any of the games pieces were "retarded".

I´ve read a lot of possitive reviews about CEAW and i must agree with them except that i think they have played a couple of times and then wrote the reviews. I would give the game around 75-80% for it´s simpliticy and ease of play.
But i understand the complains. The AI is, more or less, as good as other ww2 games out there...sometimes challening and other times a bit dull. But there´s an issue that rarely appears on the reviews (proof that they haven´t play the game enough): the damn lack of AI activity on Mediterranean, which kills a lot of fun and makes the Allied campaign booooring.
That´s been discussed before (AI problems) so there´s no point in discussing again something that won´t be changed. Better luck on CEAW 2 or other Commander series game!

There is definitely room for improvement and we'll be working hard on that for the future.
Everyone is allowed their own opinion but you're not allowed to accuse people of stealing from you- unless it's true

Don't worry about the first poster, the guy's obviously a jerk, not even able to write properly in a forum. Yes the game AI need improvement (as most of the game out there) but stating that the game is a steal is ridiculous.

As much, one could say that it´s expensive for what it offers...if the AI is such a problem with you.
I must admit that, on the first time, i also feel a bit "robbed" but eventually i liked the game and knowing that there´s still room for improvement i´m starting to think that i´ve made a good investment buying the game.
It could be better, yes. But eventually it will be.
Take it easy man!

The AI in this game is as good as any, better than some. While it is true that the AI does very little in the Med, I note that when the AI runs the Allies, it frequently invades France in 1942, and causes a dilution of the Axis effort in Russia. While this is ahistorical, I guess all I can say is that if you want a historical experience, buy a history book!
As a PBEM game, CEAW is unparallelled. In fact, I have had so much fun playing this by email that I am thinking of sending more money to Slitherine
Gdtrfb113, if you are dissatisfied with a game, ranting about it so publicly and unconstructively doesn't exactly earn you credibility as a critic.

My REAL opinion of people that expect to buy a wargame of the complexity of WW2 grand strategy and honestly expect a seriously intelligent AI is perhaps best left unprinted, it makes the post stay friendlier.
I think the AI in the game is fine when compared against it's competition.
There are some things not one wargame out there can manage where the AI is concerned.
I've played every last wargame that has a reputation of excellence a mile long, and THEY also have AI's that routinely do things the wargamer can only scream at.
So, if CEAW has a few actions that the AI does, that are frustrating, it's not like CEAW is without good company.
I guess I am just left to be wondering, will you be so daft yourself in the future?
You can play wargames in a variety of modes, not just against the AI.
There's hotseat solo or hotseat vs human, there's online, and of course there's against the AI.
Why do people think a game has to have a good AI to be any good?
A good AI would be nice, but it's actually on the bottom of my list of requirements.
Now solid secure email security features are cool.
A great online feature where you can locate people in real time would be nice too.
I am not aware at this time of any online "location" where a person can log in and find a ready and willing opponent that wants to play live ie not emailed turns. Currently it's just hit and miss finding people interested and willing with the time (in my experience).

Have patience because we want to give you something for that extra money also

How does this sound->
You will be able to buy Commander Napoleon at War in a not too distant future and that is the best way of supporting Firepower Entertainment and Slitherine Software doing more wargames in the future
