I have noticed that my superior light troops don't perform that much better than poor quality troops that cost a 1/3 the price. They both slow down the bad guys battle line and shoot away, neither ever seems to cause any damage.

I am missing something?

In a shoot out and hand to hand I would prefer the superior any day don’t forget the re rolls for superior on ones and poor on sixes this is the main reason.

Just take out two equal units yourself and simulate a battle and the superior will win most times

If all you're doing w/ the light troops is shooting and delaying the heavier troops, then poor is nearly as good as superior. If you have the advantage in the quality of light troops you can however try to hunt his light troops which can easily turn the battle.
