Anyone from BadCon 2008 out there? Keen to get an idea of the design of the 3 Later Hungarian armies used.
Thanks
Stephen

Err, if there were any Later Hungarians used they were in the DBM competition and not the FoG one
There were two used at Britcon but the lists don't seem to have been published.
Try searching the rules forum (which used to the beta forum) and you might find something.

Hi there
We used a Hungarian Army at Godendag, as did two other pairs.
We went for 2x4 BG of feudal nobles and 3x4 BG of mercenary men at arms, all these as HvArm, L, Sw but with the nobles as Undr Sup and the mercs as Dr Av. These were to be our strike force.
We also had 3x4 Szekelers which were Cv, Sup, Pro, Bw, Sw...our mobile missle troops and also possible rear support for the knights.
We only took 1x6 BG of LH bw....this was a definite error as we were easily outmanouvered and outshot in inital skirmishing. I think 2 or 3x4 BGs would have been better!
We also had 1x8 bg of HF Arm Dr Av DefSp, 2x6 BGs of MF Unpr Undr Av B and a 1x6 BG of LF Unpr Dr Av Hg.
We were outmanouvered and outshot in our first game (against RBS and his son with a Polish force) , narrowly defeated an Ottoman army in our second, were narrowly defeated by fellow Hungarians in round three, then trounced the tatars in the last game.
The other Hungarians had more LH and fewer Knights, one had more foot. As I say, I would up the LH for sure and think about the foot a bit...however, Hungarians are still a fun and useful force I think!

This is of interest to me since I have a large 25MM force painted and organized as Matthias Corvinus' Black Army. Did anyone use that variation?

sorry...dont know! However, if you go to the Roll Of Honour page, the names of all the teams/competitors are there and they are bound to be members of this forum. They certainly understood the rules a lot better than I did at that point!
