Will they have a Bow/Sword Cv option or just LH? About to order some of Mirliton's new Turkopoles and I'd need a few more for Cv...

Pretty much all nomad "light cavalry" get a free choice of fielding each BG as any one of the following:

a) LH, unprotected, bow, sword
b) Cv, unprotected, bow, sword
c) Cv, protected, bow, sword

(They don't all have to be the same).

The best equipped ones are usually
Cv, armoured, bow, sword
but don't expect any of those amongst the Catalan Company's turcomans.

Thanks. To tell you the truth I was hoping for a no - now I have to buy and paint more! :D

Mirliton will be happier though.

Ah, I'd forgotten about them. Would the Turkomen the Crusades Islamic range work for the Catalans as well (same period)? Nice to have some variety, and Mirliton and Outpost are about the same size. The new Mirliton figures are here:

FoG has inspired me to start painting armies again, and after some thought I decided to do the Catalans properly. I suspect they'll play reasonably in FoG, unlike DBM where out of period, they were rather weak, especially facing cavalry armies.

Yes, the FOG list looks pretty handy to me.

And as the book is due out in September, timing painting-wise should be about spot-on.

I can take a reasonable stab at what's in it as well :)

Well the Outpost figures would do as "wild" Turks but are quite different from the turcopoles you link to so I wouldn't mix them

If you want Turks the Outpost are good if you want Turcopoles go with the Mirliton. Of course you could have BGs of each 8)

I always though Turcopoles were just a bunch of mercenaries of various origins, not specifically Turks. Am I wrong?

Sounds about right - I think at some time they also included mixed race (Turkish/other) warriors.
