Question: Troops who charge without orders

We had a BG of knights in front of a BG of MF LB with stakes down. The rules say that the knights do not have to test not to charge if the charge would end in contact with fortifications. Unfortunately fortifications are not defined anywhere. Under Portable Defences section it says that they count as Field Fortifications for mounted (except elephants) when in combat to the front. I can see this going either way as the charge is ending with a move in contact with "things" that count as fortifcations. Or you could argue they are PD and not FF.
Which is right?

Do you think we'll get a ruling for Leeds this weekend?

We could ban stakes for those of us without them then it wouldn't come up,mind you the last time we played Bruces LB behind stakes it didn't matter

The ruling is that shock mounted must CMT not to charge troops behind PD.
This will go in the next version of the FAQ.

I assume so, but that decision is presumably up to the umpire or the BHGS or somebody.
