Advice for beginners - constantly losing - frustrated

Hello,

I've tried BotB scenario four times but failed all of them. I can get the advance started but after few days the game just gets too hard.

For example, US unit of 3 pips stopped my 4pip armor + 2 infantry with total of 6 pips for 3 turns. I've tried different approaches to attacking but it seems like defending is very very very good situation here.

I've tried with and without armor but a single infantry unit can hold against everything. The game is excellent but it's frustrating to play for an hour and not able save or anything. There is a learning curve for sure but i don't seem to get it.

Could you give me some advice to get some success? Constantly losing doesn't motivate to play.

You can do a lot better than that, don't give up!

Best advice I can give is, have a really good look at the attack modifiers/defense modifiers, the impact of forests and towns, which help defenders a lot, in different ways. Try to combine armour with infantry when you attack, also use elite infantry/armour for attacks, for attack bonus.

By all means don't give up! The system favours a large concentration of force, due to the fixed hit reduction for terrain. 6 points is not enough to attack with. Try using 2 armour as a minimum. If you get a 3 stack of German armour, you can plow through almost everything. If there is a strong defence (armour + elite in good terrain), aim to bypass it to get it out of supply.

If you want to see how it is done, invite me to a game on the Game Center (I am "Henleazey"). Once you know the basics, you should always beat the AI, especially when you are playing as the AXIS.
