To update mid-game or not, that is the question

I'm in the middle of three multiplayer campaigns and one tournament game. And now we have an update. That was quick!

The blog announcing the update (http://www.shenandoah-studio.com/drive- ... pdate-103/) doesn't go into particulars, but mentions some game balancing. What specifically have you tweaked? It will inform the decision: update mid-game or not?

I'll definitely hold off on the tournament game. The campaigns will probably play out over the next two weeks or more.If I don't update, I expect I'll want to ignore any new DOM game invites for now. So... how does the game handle the victory levels when the opponents are playing on different versions?

This can get a little strange but the game will still function.

We recommend upgrading because this will give you the best results in Game Center.

Thanks,
Brad

PAL, as it turns out, the new victory conditions did affect our game, even though we hadn't updated. Although I'm sure you don't mind ;-)

^I didn't realize I was facing the mighty Dude. :)

My apologies. I updated due to the press of other (updated) multiplayer games including one with a member of the Shenandaoh team who recommended it. I didn't expect it to affect ours, and only did so after I read that your non-updated victory conditions would be unaffected. That it did is an interesting surprise.

The ELO rating system means nothing to me, nor was it a tournament match. If it is of concern to you, I will be happy to give you the chance for revenge or restitution. Choose your terms.
