Hi
I was wondering what is considered to be the smallest workable army points wise and what size of table would be suitable for use.
At the moment I assume 600pts and 6 x 4
Thanks

There is going to be a mini-Fog ( or Mist ) tournament over here in Northern Va at the end of April.
The plan is to try 400 point games on a 48 x 30 inch field. Halving all maximums and minimums for trooops, and generals will cost half as much too.
I'll let you know how it works out.
Cheers

I think generals plus about 300pts is the minimum that is worth playing with. Did that to teach my son.
So 400 pts with generals at half price sounds reasonable to me too. It won't have as big a feel as a game but enough to have a go.

I have been asked to run a FoG tournament on one day only of a Games con in June and am currently considering three 600 point games on 5' by 3' tables with 2 1/2 hours a game. I need to try it out a few times at the club to see how it goes but my experience of playing agmes with the 600 point starter armies is that they give a good game but for some of them 6 by 4 is too much space.

How old is he? Mine is coming up for 9 - I'm just wary of boring him and putting him off a lifetimes obession with toy soldiers

He's 12, but I managed to teach him DBM at 9.
I think you will be just about OK at 9 if you keep it simple as a game.
