In PG I used my aircraft also very much for scouting. Even in rainy and snowy weather they could be of some use. I even used my air transport in those weather conditions for that purpose. In PzC that scouting ability is limited during good weather (you don't see units on your flight path) and in those bad weather you can't 'see' at all with your aircraft not even the hex where you are in. True, that is more realistic. However, you can clearly see the shadow of the plane (like the sun is shining....)
