Luna 2 Freeze

Hi there, the game keeps freezing during my Soviet sandbox game every time the Luna 2 does the Earth-Moon transit stage. The music plays and I can seemingly pause/unpause the mission but I can't exit out of it or progress to the next stage. Is there anything I can do short of reloading and losing my progress?

Hello TovarishAmerika,
Welcome to the forums. That's very weird, do you have a savefile at hand so that I can reproduce it on my end?
Regarding your question, reload the savefile and choose the "Skip to outcome" option when resuming the mission. This will skip the animation and take you straight to the mission results.
Cheers,

Hey,
Thanks for the quick reply. Where abouts are the save files? Can't seem to dig them up. My last save was almost a decade back in game time, so you might have to play through a bit to replicate it.

Hello,
The location of the files varies depending on which version of Windows you're using. Check out
this thread for more details.
Notice that the game creates an autosave every time you end a turn. If you can send me the autosave of the season where you launched the probe (or an autosave around that date), that would be great.
Cheers,

Thanks! I tested it on my development environment and I managed to run and watch the whole mission without any problems. Then I tested it on the Steam version and yes, I experienced the same issue you did. Looks like I forgot to update the animation textures in the last patch. Don't worry, it will be fixed for the next update. For the moment stick to the "Skip to outcome" option and keep the savefile if you want to see the animation once the next update gets released.
Cheers,

Hello MoWe,
Welcome to the forums! This has been fixed and it's available on the
latest beta patch. You can give the beta patch a go if you want, or wait for an official update, which will become available soon.
Cheers,
