PC version keeps crashing

I purchased the PC version of the game (already own iPad) yesterday, but unfortunately am dealing with frequent crashes. It's happened during the AI's turn but also during one of mine (after moving a unit IIRC) - the game freezes and I'm left with the spinning circle mouse pointer, any clicking on the screen makes it go gray-ish and prompt the "Panzer Corps is not responding" popup. At this point I've been unable to manage more than a couple turns without the issue, so the game's pretty much unplayable as-is.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Version is 1.22.

Here's the main system info from my Direct Dialog file:

Please try the following:
Open the game installation folder and find a subfolder named Audio. Please rename it to _Audio and check if the issue persists.
