Bayfog 24/25 Oct 2015
Options
We have seem to enjoyed the 900pt average Joe theme for the last 3 years but just wondered if there were any other things people would like to try to keep it fresh.. my starters for ten are…..
a. 900pts average troops only, any year.. but only one of each army
b. 900pts pre 250ad average troops only.. but only 1 or 2 of each army
c. 900pts make your own army up…design your perfect army!
d. 1000pts any army, completely open
e. 650pt armies.. 3 games per day ( 5- 6 game weekend)
f. Pre set terrain.. open, mountain, agricultural etc..
g. 3 or 4 scenario options eg encounter, withdrawal, plus others (see Phil Powell and other suggestions of 2013)
h. Variable points format (4 games) -700/800/900pt armies – use one army per round
i. 800 or 900 pt two list comp.. same army just two different list options
j. Smaller tables/shorter games
Feel free to post other possibilities..
Cheers
Paul

With these choices you are spoiling us ..........
Personally more games over the weekend would appeal. Might help me to rise to average competence in keeping with the theme before the end of the basho for once!
Average, open, 900 points, 5 x 3.5 hour games works for me but even better would be 6 x 3.5 hour games with one on Friday, 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday a la Britcon! That'd separate the men from the laddies!

Right then... It's the Average Joe Classic
This will be the last year of average joe.. so let's make it a good one!
1. No ICs.
But Phyrric can be used but cinc must be FC
2. All armies and allies must date from before 250ad
3. No superior or elite troops to be allowed.
4. Any army with compulsory superior or elite troops can be used BUT those compulsory troops cannot be used. (The compulsory superior/elite troops are simply ignored unless point 5 applies)
5. If compulsory troops have the option to be used as average (as well as superior/elite) then those compulsory troops must be taken and taken as average.
6. Allies can be taken and their superior compulsory troops simply ignored/downgraded as applicable/above.
7. Armies to be no more than 900pts.
8. Figures must be 15mm which must represent the general time period and overall style of troops they are meant to represent.
9. 3.5 hour games with up to 15mins extra variable. Whistle stop applies. Finish the phase you are in.
10. If there is an odd number of players and a bye system is unavoidable then the last player to submit their army list will run the risk of taking the first bye.
11. Free bottle of Baytown Beer for all entrants. (see
www.baytownrhb.com)
12. Cost £30 and includes two pub lunches. Payment in advance. Paypal to
paul@navigatorpr.com. Credit/debit cards can also be used.
13. 4 games; 2 Saturday and 2 Sunday. 9.30am start on the Saturday.
14. lists to
paul@navigatorpr.com as early as possible and no later than 9 October 2015
15 Any player killing all 4 of his opponent's generals in the same game wins a bottle of the new Baytown Smuggler's gin
16 I may have one bed free at my house.. Hunter gets first dibs

I don't think I've ever used four generals, so nobody is going to get a bottle of gin playing me

A better idea would be to use it as a handicapping system - kill a general you have to take a measure of the gin, two if it's a FC or the CinC.

I'd have to opt out. I have an allergy to gin (probably the juniper). Seriously!
Offer another tipple and I might be tempted.

After Schiltron when I lost all four generals in one game I just have an allergy to having Genetals killed.

we could call it the Munroe masterstroke ! to avoid exclusions the prize could be from gin/vodka/whisky and port.... collusion will be frowned on

Yes but who pays
You will have Phil dashing round trying to kill generals if it is Hunter
