During the in-game leveling animation to level 1 it shows '+1 Willpower'. In both the Manual (see below) and the updated unit stats neither mention a permanent increase in Willpower. Is that just a recovery of Willpower?

I ask because you don't see a '+1 HP' which you recover when leveling but you do see the permanent '+1 Melee and Ranged Skill' which I would expect.

Although you don't actually gain any willpower specifically when you level up, sometimes gaining that additionally one HP pushes you back above a HP percentage threshold which allows the unit to remove a negative de-buff to it's willpower. Hope this explains the issue.
