Re-installing the game and it will not start. Crash log . . .

Also, I cannot update to 1.52 patch. I have tried it with Norton disabled but still no good. If I load it from the games' Program Files I get nearly all the way through the procedure (entering game code etc) so that it is installing the files but it always stops at the end of the first line . . ."Installing files . . . CGTW\...\lgs.lua"

If I try and load it from the "Check for Update" provision on the first screen I get "Runtime Error - Program Files (x86) Slitherine\CTGW\update.exec - abnormal program termination.

Please advise.

Unzip the downloaded file. Run the extracted file to update the game.

No good. Same outcome as above (see crash log). Please advise.

Tried again, Using WINRAR to "Extract to" CTGW folder and getting "Access is Denied" message. I am not sure if I am doing this right though . My computer skills are not good.

Right, this morning re-loaded the game and v1.1.2 works OK. But the "Check for update" facility stops half way through installation process. I tried to do it manually and get "Access is denied" message. Why does the "Check for Update" facility not work properly? Will it do so once the 1.60 patch is released? I don't mind waiting for this as it is the reason I have re-loaded the game again.

Usually this is caused by an interference caused by an Internet security program, like firewall and anti-virus.
Try extracting the file in Windows safe mode.
Do you know how to boot your Windows in safe mode?
