Terminators

Greetings, comrades!

I'm currently doing my 1st steps in the 2nd act and there's one thing that irritates me a bit: Terminators. I know they are are heavily armoured, slow infantry, but unfortunately they don't seem to have access to Land Raiders or teleportation technology, relying solely on foot-slooging it across Armageddon. And the scenario maps seem to ever increase in size, which leads to the situation that basically every fight is long over when they finally arrive.

Could we please get some kind of transportation for these chaps? My Steel Legion boys are already calling them Tactical Movenaught Armour...

If I recall correctly Ork elite infantry (both - basic and megarmored) get an access to a variety of transport vehicles. So it might be an oversight, no?

Seconded: Termies need a teleport and/or Land Raider transport option!

It's a bit of a mixed bag.

We couldn't allow them to use Rhino transports because the lore specifically prohibits this.
It was decided fairly early on to make Land Raiders combat vehicles instead of 'mere' transports.

Maybe we can compromise though... I know for a fact that pretty much no one uses the 'standard' Land Raider. If and when people use them, they almost always take a weaponized version instead (helois is my personal favorite, luv dat multi missile fire and impact animation!).

Would there be too much player confusion if we converted the standard Land raider to a dedicated transport?

Thoughts and opinions welcome. :)

no it's not confusing, also the same problem with razorback: why they are a separate unit instead of transport? (for example razorback can become the transport for devastators squads), and damocles command rhino the transport for the command squad.

I like this idea, sounds good and would make the game better / closer to the original :-)

I like that idea. Termis really need a transport.

I agree.. Terminators is not known for standing two miles behind the rest. Feel it is like with the Ferdiand in PG2, movement like a snail, making them close to useless

Ferdiand because of it's size and weight did move like a snail, that's why they were next to useless...

The Ferdinand/Elefant may have been the most successful tank destroyer employed during the war in kills per loss, reaching an average ratio of approximately 10:1 but, poor mobility and mechanical unreliability greatly diminished its operational capability.

Interesting feedback... as always I won't make promises I can't keep, but this is definitely good food for thought! :D

Yea I know, but that is not the case with Warhammer Terminators.. the slow part that is.. they are suppose to move as fast as any other infantry.

This is my first post - but I love this game so much. Terminators need transport or orbital drops - they are mostly useless unless they can get into the action!

Maybe I am too short into this game and no PzC veteran but I also don't get why it should be confusing to have a Land Raider as Terminator Transport.
I agree to have a transport for Terminators otherwise you have to slow down your advance for having them at front line.

Another Idea for a future Patch or DLC:

Implementing a Drop Phase after the Deployment Phase, The Player can define a Landing hex and like the paratroopers in Panzer Corps the final landing hex is random.

- Landing on a enemy Unit should destroy this unit
- Landing in a hex next to an enemy unit could be a moral loss effect for the enemy unit
- Space Marines only

Land Raiders are transports, not tanks. So make them transports for terminators please. Transports with speed, protection and firepower.

Btw: Is there any technical reason why Land Raiders can't be both transports and dedicated tanks? Wouldn't that just require the addition of Land Raider transports, leaving tanks as is?

Also: Panzer Corps manages to differentiate between different types of transports, so I don't see why Arma shouldn't.

And what about that teleport option? A variant of the panzer Corps coding for paratroopers (that can't be intercepted), for example? That way each scenario could limit the number of termies that can teleport, from 0 and up.

Kerensky,
Would love to see Terminators have transports. With most everything else being mounted, Termies really seem to lag behind, which makes taking them not a great thing.

Termies arriving by droppod or deep strike would also be very nice :)
