Strategic & Tactical Tactics and Tips

In reading through the various threads it occurred to me that they contain a number of good strategic and tactical tactics and tips. Two that I've found very useful are,

1. Prior to tactical or strategic bomber attacks, use your fighters to attack a target in order to bring out and use up the enemy fighters. In this way your tactical or strategic bomber attacks go in unmolested.

2. Another tip that I find very useful and didn't know about is that a unit in the same turn can be loaded onto and unloaded from a transport if the transport doesn't move. In some cases, such as an attack on Denmark, this allows the unit to be "transported" from a hex next to a friendly port to an enemy hex and participate in combat all on the same turn. I find this tactic very useful on the attack on Denmark as it allows for two gound units to attack on the turn of invasion.

I was wondering what other useful tactics and tips people might have.

3. Here's one that's more of a warning that a tip. If you use a fighter to engage a ground target and that fighter is intercepted by an enemy fighter then that attack costs 6 oil points. Three for the fighter to fighter combat and three more for the attack on the ground target.
