After applying the first patch when I try to play the game (or tutorials) I get the following message box:

***Unhandled Exception! ExpCode:0xC0000005 ExpFlags:0 ExpAddress:0x00EC362E please report!

So I am doing just that.

Please help.

did you buy the game from here or steam?

Sorry you are having problems. When exactly does this box appear?

Perhaps this post could help you to find the savegame and to answer some questions.
That would help the programmer to find the bug.

Hi Iain,

I bought the Slitherine version of the game, not Steam. I am using Windows 8.1.

The problem occurs as soon as you click on OK on the 'Scenario Objective' box right at the start of a mission.

On the error box itself, when you click on OK (or the X in the top-right corner) the game goes straight back to the initial start screen of the game. It worked fine before the patch, which I downloaded from Matrix, yesterday, but in its current state the game is unplayable.

Maybe there was some program interfering during the installation of the patch. by a security program (like anti-virus) when you applied the patch.
Could you please try the following:

1. Uninstall the game
2. Disable temporarily your security programs
3. Install the game
4. Run the game and check if the issue persists
5. Download the patch and install it from the link below
ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/Warhammer ... p-v101.zip
6. Unzip the download file. Run the extracted file to update the game
7. Run the game and check if the issue is persisting

I have sent you a separate email containing a new link for you to download your game, in case you need it to reinstall the game again.

I followed all your instructions and used the new links provided, but the exact same problem persists.

Can you please copy and paste the contents of the My Documents/My Games/PIKEANDSHOT/error.log file immediately after a game crash, in case it provides more information.

I fixed this myself in the end.

This is what worked for me (using the dreaded Windows 8.1):

The game automatically installs into: Program Files (x86), this seems to have caused the fault, so I uninstalled the game completely.

In my C Drive I made a folder called: Slitherine, then inside that I created another file called: Warhammer 40,000 Armageddon. When I reinstalled the game I changed the installation path so that the game installed into this new Warhammer 40,000 Armageddon folder. You can tell when it has worked, as version V1.01 is shown on the start screen.

Warning: If you don't back-up any saved games that you want you will lose them.

I hope that this fix works for others here, too.

The first campaign game patrol. I just moved my Tank and attacked when I got this error. I got the game from Steam account. Please fix!!! I can't play.

on the latest patch?

uninstalled and reinstalled to a different folder?

steam or bought from here version?
