Terrain Choice

In terrain choice, a large piece counts as 2 selections and 2 towards the maximum for that type unless it is compulsory. All well and good. Also, a covered hill can be chosen as a compulsory piece if hills are compulsory or the covering is. Great.

What happens when (or are the following allowed):

1. Hills are compulsory and a large sized hill is taken and covered: does the covering count towards the maximum of number of its type, and, therefore, there needs to be at least two of that type available to execute this scenario?

2. The covering is compulsory and a large sized hill is taken and covered: does the hill count towards the maximum of number of its type, and, therefore, there needs to be at least two of that type available to execute this scenario?

Cheers,

Steve

Covering do not count as extra selections - stated page 140 2nd para.

So large compulsory holl counts 1 towards the hill count whether covered or not. If covered it does not affect the allowance for other items. Simple is best. :)

Ta, I understand the selections part, but in the beta rules they had the hill and covering counting towards the minima and maxima of their respective types. I was trying to ascertain if the hill/covering combo when used as a compulsory counted as 2 towards the minima/maxima of the none compulsory type (the rules are clear on the compulsory bit only counting as only 1 towards min/max even if large). I probably could have phrased this better the first time.
