Can you limit the fps?

Hello,

Is there a way to limit the fps to 60?

I have a bit trouble with my GPU (nVidia 560Ti). Especialy in the Menu I get ~2000 fps and the GPU is working at 95% and is getting hotter and hotter.
Ingame its a bit better. ~75% load and ~400fps.

There was the same problem with Starcraft 2 a few years back until Blizzard released a Patch to limit the fps in the Menu to 60.

Any help is appreciated.
Greetings
Dimokito

NEVERMIND I found a solution. I set the fps limit to 60fps in MSI Afterburner. Now my GPU is working at ~20% ;)

Thank you for this workaround, Dimokito. I still think they need to add a Vsync option. My video card was getting hotter and hotter, too.

Glad I could help you out. And yes they need to add this option.

Not everyone knows how to use such Tools.

Had the same problem. Used EVGA Precision to set a frame rate limit of 60 fps because the lack of VSYNC options.
I noticed that in Panzer Corps the GPU stays in 2D mode but in Armageddon switch to 3D mode. I read the engine was rewritten for this game, maybe because of this it use 3D functions. If they are not really necessary, just enabled for debugging or something like, maybe we can go back to the way of PzC.

I would suggest to use Nvidia Inspector which can set limit for FPS for W40K:A's exe file and the setting is used by default by driver :D

And hello everyone as this is my first post here! 8)

Thank you!

First I have tried 30 and then switched to 60. All cool and quiet from now on ;)

Thanks for the info, but for those of us less technically inclined I believe we are working towards a solution in this department as well!

Yes I saw some info on the steam forums that this will be solved in one of future patches, that is why I did not put step by step solution as I felt it's not necessary. :)

But if someone would like to know how to do it, just let me know ;)

zakblood, you are such a fanboy. :P Can't anyone make a negative and/or constructive comment about Slitherine's games without you knocking them?

What do you mean poor drivers with nvidia cards? Nvidia makes excellent cards, and they are probably the most popular video card.

They do not have poor drivers. The developers just need to add a Vsync option, like most games nowadays. Problem solved.

Thanks for being a good sport, zak. You know I'm teasing, I hope. Mostly. :D

I think that's the first time I have called someone a fanboy. I read about it all the time, but I'm also too old to be using the cool kids internet speak.

Game on! I just want the game to be the best it can be.

we all do

and this is my next card btw 970 4096MB GDDR5 from a ATI/AMd one, low tdp and smaller plus than the one i've have now so can go passive cooling for no noise at all :)

I have just always preferred Nvidia because they just work. 90% of the time when there is a graphical problem with any game, it is ATI related. That's just my opinion and what I have noticed over the years.

However, I am all for a video card drawing less power and the fan not running full blast!

i have 7 pc, all have ati cards in them, but as the latest batch of ati cards for me all draw far too much power, i have no decided to get my first nvidia card for over 8 or 9 years, lower power requirements in the main thing, size in the second, with nvidia cards being smaller than most ati/amd ones, most of the ati / amd ones i own are the Sapphire Radeon Vapor-X models, so next to silent and very cool at almost all settings apart from max that is, then both go up a bit, but not what you call loud by any stretch of the imagination...

as i also like cool and quite boxes / towers
