Buying on Amazon

Hello folks. I appreciate there is an online purchase option on the Slitherine webpage, but I'd like to recommend this game to someone to buy as a present and they would almost certainly prefer to use Amazon. Is the game ever going to be available there? They will want a physical DVD I am sure. Amazon has a holding page for it, but it is not currently available.

...I guess if there's a retail chain that stocks the physical DVD that would also be useful. Can this game be bought in the shops?

94 people have read this and no-one has a word of advice? Not even from the developer or publisher?
All I need is someone to tell me "the only way to get a boxed copy is to order through the Slitherine shop".
Is that truly the case?

We will soon have the line up available from Amazon but it is not there yet.
This is the page but I don't have an ETA on when it will be live.

Thank you.
Are DVDs being fulfilled from the Slitherine shop now? If so, I'll try that.

I got my DVD copy a while ago after going for the DVD + download option, so I shouldn't think you'd have any probs. But hopefully an admin will answer your question! ;o)

A pretty punishing review just got posted that may warrant a more positive perspective from those who enjoy the game! I can't comment either way, I have to wait for Santa to deliver it

Well, the guy is entitled to his opinion.
However, it is completely untrue that the combat mechanisms favour the AI in any way. Player and AI units use exactly the same code and random factors for combat and morale tests, taking no account of whether the unit belongs to the player or the AI.

Oh I've read plenty of positive reviews. It's the fact that this was on Amazon that I thought was worthy of note. However since you can't buy it on Amazon, perhaps it doesn't matter!

I did the same, no problems. Having the rule book at hand is really handy when you are playing.
