Hi,

Could I know why we can not put every unit wherever we wish ? I mean, why heavy infantry has to stay in the center zone, why not on far right/far left for example? I would like to try some new formation but I can not, otherwise I waste couple of turns moving manually my guy from center to flank and so on. Is it really historical ? I doubt so.

It is not really historical to have a map edge but we have to end the battlefield area somewhere.. Infantry deployment is kept away from the map edge so that cavalry maintain their historical role. If the infantry can easily protect their flank with the map edge that isn't very historical.
