have closed the last thread, made too many mistakes tbh and didn't like the format, kept making in game mistake and forgetting where i was....

will re do but miss out the tutorial and consider than done and dusted for now, as that's had 3 play through now and 2 reports done on it.

also didn't like screen shot of ending either, added nothing and doesn't do much so repeating it was silly and a mistake also...

so start again, will be finished today with one play through, as it's 2am now, so already on act 2...

sleep is over rated anyway :shock:

had an hour now i'm back on to it.....

those marked with DONE won't be having a second play through after this quick play either on easy...

Act1

SCENARIO CampScen1A Opening Faults...

a good and different mission from the ones in the tutorial seen so far, as if you don't remember lie i didn't on first play you kill what you should capture, plenty of time, plus resources, unit options are good for needs of the mission...

aircraft button now works and has units in there to select, as before in last beta it was greyed out and a few flying units were in wrong sections, eg other section that weren't for aircraft's...

so far infantry seem to be a lot better than before,which was a concern of many here, Orc's are attacking more, and tbh the explosions seem to be better, bigger? or i have just not noticed them looking as good...

please remember this is quick play, so only doing it on easy all the way through, then will play all again and edit the differences into the same thread and pictures as i play along, as this rate nearly all will be done once through by dinner time tomorrow hopefully if not all, then ramp up the difficulty and re play / test again...

have edited first comments in first post to say the same, made mistake of going in on easy but will play quick first time through so not have to restart and do all again, apart from tutorials etc, which tbh are fine so no more comments needed...

comments so far are good and positive and better than beta was so Ian was right all along, again.... would be nice in a update though to change the win pictures maybe in each act? if you haven't already that is...

will stick with first impressions of the level and these are my correct notes, so won't change and amend as yet.

it's good that you are given a choice of ways to go, as it all adds up to setting the atmosphere of the game so far and gives you the feeling that you aren't being lead down a certain path and you have some choices, even if you really don't, so it's good.

SCENARIO CampScen2A Desperate Rout

this mission for me was the hardest in act one, by a long way, the map is full of Orc's, and all your paths are blocked, so have to fight your way through, if you forget what your doing and go off piste like i did and loose track on what your doing, then your in for a lot of hurt and pain, you may loose most of your credit and units on this one if your not careful and have to fully remember what your here for, escort is not kill all mission, remember that and you will do it, try and kill all on map with what units at his time you have won't happen without massive looses and maybe even failure of the mission as i did on first play....

overall good, but hard, and i'm playing on easy, wouldn't want to reply on hardest as i don't think this one maybe doable on it either....

this is a good to great mission with a good finish, a challenge and very playable, most will love this one as it's not run of the mill defence or attack...

one maybe to replay, so have noted it as such...

SCENARIO CampScen3A Equatorial Escape

i liked this one as up to yet the colours used in game seen so far have been a bit drab, and this one is mainly green, so says my notes! so must have stood out :lol:

map sizes are starting to get bigger with some being wide, some tall, this one is a good size as again i noted it....

task is to get across the map full of Orc's without dying in the process, but is good as the Orc's are in groups so can be done once found in smaller bands, just don't uncover too many at a time and this one is a cake walk...

from about here i start to see more heavy units appearing in the Orc mix, so better use of units as last beta had too many lighter units, this one an a few others had some good Orc medium and artillery pieces in it as well and also use them well if not spotted and wiped out first so is a surprise if left unknown...

SCENARIO CampScen3B Shuttle Search

easy but fun, wasn't sure if i needed to keep infantry on the ones i found or just place a unit on them to save them, so kept a tank at each one and moved around ...

this is where i started to go wrong before, going backwards and forwards to a then b, i kept forgetting the objectives so then started writing them down, which is also wrong, these need to be able to be viewed once n a mission, as if you save it half way through, you have no option to re view what you should be doing at all, this to me is an error, and needs a fix once the game is released, almost a day one patch thing as it's a no no to go with out it, but doesn't need to hold up the release as long as it can be done quick enough post release as everyone will ask for this, mark my words, as if i loose track, so will everyone else, so number one forum topic & fix this one :!:

also need to learn how to read (- Added "i" button used to review mission objectives at any time.) :lol:

Jesus i must be blind in my old age, new thread started because of that as well :oops: :cry:

SCENARIO CampScen4 Defending Minos Crossing

your first mainly defensive one, and right from word go or turn start should i say you get hordes of Orc's attacking your defences, so no time to prepare and alter them, it fight right away or loose the lot, a good battle and a good map layout, with the right troop choices made so far, looses can be kept to a minimum and you spend as much time repairing as you do attacking so be prepared to pull some back or lose them, as kept in the front line can be hard work for some units...

fast pasted and a good level of steady action, so all around defensive fun and a change from the so far attacks you have been doing...

Orc group sizes in this can be larger than the default use of 3 and 4 units, seen 6 together attacking in this one, so defence in depth is needed as single units die quick with this many attacking in one go as they can be singled out...

but it's balanced and doable...

if your going to fail any often it will be this one, as again i had to do it a few times and i forgot one what i was doing an move to close and failed it once as well as it says, only the titan, and i forgot and didn't read it, it seems, a chance of mission and good map layout, with new upgrades and units being offered and welcome, as soon you will need them, so planning and level design is good so far, as your given more than enough at times to do what you need, and also time to refit for what is coming, money is good atm as well, as glory rises also...

SCENARIO CampScen6A Escorting the Helpless

escorting infantry type units was hard in the last beta as orc's went for them like bee's round honey, but that's been toned down some what now it seems as they now attacking anything in range and don't just go for infantry, so makes this some what easier as just put other units in front of those you are escorting and it's job well done...

another good map and layout, and a different challenge from attack only or defence

maybe a bit too easy, as mostly light units involved and on bikes or trike's what ever they are :shock:

and when i say easy, i mean if you put other units in front, if you find it harder, then maybe your not protecting, just attacking :roll: :wink:

SCENARIO CampScen6B Battle on the Diabolus

this is a head on Orc horde charge, as you move one way, they move another and you both meet, if more heavy Orc units were involved you would find this harder, as it's a lot of units all at once, can't remember this like this before so maybe it's been altered or i have just forgot it, but it seems Orc's are in bands or waves in this one, so prepare to sometimes do a fighting withdraw to repair, shoot and scoot and it's most basic, works and winnable level, and a good challenge even on easy...

as you are spread out and they are all bunched up, so you have less where as they out number you for a change, as it's no longer 3 or 4 at a time, now it can be 6 plus in one go, so retreat and survive and repair a lot but not much time to rest in this one so morale lost is large, so prepare to lose the odd unit if not careful ...

SCENARIO CampScen7A Arrival at Infernus

basically a assault mission on bridges, when it's the Orc's who own the artillery on the other side and not only out gun you, but if your not careful also can out range you, so planning and unit choices come more into play here, as good scout and helicopter is useful here and just what the doctor ordered and supplied, good map layout and design again, with some good mix of units for the orc's, challenging yes but fun as well, about medium difficulty is all that i'd say if gives with the right weapon choices made, i still tend to sell and buy a lot as i don't either have the space, or money to keep, not that you can have reserves anyway...

an escape map, not the greatest map and design lay out for a nearly all tank squad to have, so sell time for me and buy better more appropriate troops for the terrain, as i can by them back later anyway when needed...
time is more important than units for this one, but not the hardest in act 1, but fun all the same, Orc's don't seem to be in plentiful supply so distance is the thing in this one....

wasn't sure about this one, as from the map it looks like your defending but it's you that attack and take the objectives so maps a bit misleading on first look / glance, troop choice again decides if this is easy for you or medium to hard, as the orc's have some fair to ok weapons by now and have them, cannons look nice and are longer ranged but weak up close so rush them and your fine...

basically a wipe them out type scenario, good map layout and design gives you the advantage of good defence and if you again pick the right weapons and units it's out come doesn't have to be a hard one either, good but i'd like the orc's to have slightly less infantry in this one and maybe more of a mix of slightly better medium units and weapons as that would add more to the challenge, as it is a mainly infantry assault on you, so they tend to horde attack, which doesn't come out or work to well against a tank line :shock: :roll: :wink:

this is a much better selection of Orc units and gives more of a balanced force to attack my tanks, really enjoyed it, maybe another one to add to the re play list so will comment more on a edit...

again found this quite hard on easy level so not sure i'd like to do it again on the hardest difficulty either, or if it's even doable on that level, not by me anyway as just not that good a player tbh...

unit mix by Orc's will give most setup's a hard time, have a tried a few on this level and enjoyed it as it's a challenge but not sure if i'd want to play it again or on a harder setting, as for me it maybe too hard if i ramped it up too much...

map layout and design add's to this so well done plus the use and mix of the Orc forces doesn't help as there is a lot of them in this one for a early one, a good challenge for the die-hards if another one is needed :wink:

SCENARIO CampScen12 Final Stand at Archeron

another rock hard one, with a massive horde being unleashed upon you on the bottom right of the map, you do well to come out without massive losses with this one, with a mostly all tank setup i do better than most, but the numbers are against you on this and it's still gives a good challenge on even easy to keep your force together and keep them in one piece....

might be hardest one fought to date, if not in the whole game...

map design is good with river an bridges giving you some protecting and limiting the advance somewhat, well slows them down and funnels them for a while until there numbers start to wear you down and push you pack away from the bridges that is, if you haven't killed half by now and kept most of yours, you don't survive for long when they cross....

challenging but fun...

As a heads up, there is a problem with this map that currently causes it to instantly end in victory. We are aware of the issue and have fixed it, but if you want to play this scenario while testing BETA5, you need to...

Open the map in the editor.
Go to unit filter (hotkey control 5)
Right click the AUX anti tank support team on hex 15,12 to delete it from the map.
Hit save.

And you're all set.

If anyone finds any other such serious problems, let us know now so we can fix them for release!

SCENARIO CampScen13 Relief Operation

a very open and easy map, not a lot to say about this, after the last full on battle, this seems like a quite section of the war, so RnR time maybe :?:

very easy to do, and Orc's aren't in great or large numbers either, so maybe the easiest one in the whole game...

not great but a relax if you have played so far all in the one day like me, as the slow pace and rest in this one is a change of tempo, and yes that what my notes say, tempo slower :shock:

SCENARIO CampScen14 Breakthrough Operation

spoke too soon about RnR, which is maybe why this happened, this map design is small long and very thin, making it a no flanking battle, so everything is either frontal or ranged...
time again is the killer here, as most Orc's are here to slow your progress down, not kill you, with this in mind you may have to leave some and move on or like me on first play i ran out of it before doing all 8 objectives :shock: :lol:

so again keep an eye on it,and review your objectives often with the i key, yes i use it now....

that i have found it...

not that is was hidden, it was just not mentioned in the tutorial either :shock: :roll: :wink:

well it's 5 am now and i'm flagging again tbh so will have an hour kip before getting back to this, nn all :wink:
