Images help needed

Could someone explain what the figures represent in this image please.
I have worked out that the middle columns x="0" is start at position 0 which is the left hand side of a column of images.
The y="0" means is start position for top image in a column of images and y="100" is the start of the second image in the column.
I want to create my own army from my own miniatures so as much information of making this possible would be a great help.
I would also like to know what determines which image goes with which.
