I'm not sure of the protocol on this forum, but are we allowed to upload ZIP files with our mods to share and test? Are there any limits or restrictions?

You can indeed post links for people to grab. zips are a great way to test early versions, before using the LST integrated download system to let more people grab them once it is fairly stable. If a mod is good and solid you can even ask to make it an official mod which will appear in everyone's download list
