Early impressions of my first time playing beta

First of all, I'm a Warhammer 40k veteran (played 40k between 1998 and roughly 2012), and I've also played Gorkamorka, Space Hulk and the pen & paper RPG Dark Heresy, but I've never played Epic (which is the scale that this game is on), only the PC-game based on Epic called Final Liberation.
First 5 min:
Interface feels rather intuitive, but the "end turn" button is not where I expected it to be. This is most likely due to my experience with games like Panzer General and similar, where the end turn button is in the lower right corner of the screen. The current "end turn" button is in a logical place, but it's just not where I expected it to be (and I keep moving my cursor down into the lower right corner, hard to un-learn what I've learnt form other games). Audiovisual feedback when doing things is very good.
First 30min:
Some music would be nice. I still like the sound effects, but it feels a tad bit empty without music. Good thing I have the excellent Chaos Gate soundtrack available on my computer. First mission might be a tad bit on the hard side for a first mission. I'm not saying that I don't enjoy a good challenge, I really do, but I would like to feel a bit more comfortable with the game before it starts kicking my rear. Good variety of units, and it feels quite easy to tell what each unit is supposed to do (probably in part due to my experience with 40k, and orks in particular). I was not quite ready for grots being able to harm my vehicles, but it makes sense considering the scale of the game that they can hurt vehicles. It would be nice if I could find the math behind the game in an easily accessible place (very few games does this, but I like transparent systems. This one feels more transparent than most, but I would still like more transparency). The most important part to note though is: I'm having lots of fun!
