Support and flanking question

Do support and flanking bonuses only apply to the "to hit" roll? I only had time to play the tutorials last night. But, I never saw support and flanking causing extra hits. My guys only ever hit for one damage, no matter how much support and flanking bonuses I had. Maybe this was just because it was the tutorial, though.

So, can flanking and support give extra damage, too? Or do they just help with the "to hit" roll?

Thanks!

Each 'Support' gives a bonus to the attacking unit's melee skill which is then compared to a 2d6 die roll. So it's still one attack.

IIRC once an attack 'hits' then the melee strength is compared to a defending units armor rating. So no extra damage just better hit chance.

No extra damage, just bonus modified die roll towards the to-hit roll.
