Really enjoying this game, but I was wondering if there is any way to change the names of the astronauts, mission controllers, to kind of personalize the game for single player, obviously. Thanks.

this can only be done by tweaking the games files. There is XML files for that.

You could maybe find other interested players to build a historical names mod...

There is no specific tool or something like that to do this. You have to do it manually by yourself, which requires you to edit some system file. I think you can change it in XML files.

Changing the names requires editing some of the game files. It's quite straightforward, though: the files are stored inside SPM-Windows_Data\Scripts\Data Scripts\General Container. You'll find XML files in there for each employee groups (SET, Astronauts/Cosmonauts and Flight Controllers) and for each space agency. Open the files with a text editor and feel free to change the names.

I have created a historical astronaut candidate roster with over 200 names. Takes you up to the 1990 astronaut class. Includes USAF DynaSoar and MOL astronauts. HOWEVER....
This board is not letting me attach a file OR insert a URL. So how am I supposed to share the file?

Would be nice to have Neil and Buzz and others in the list.

Buzz and Yuri Gagarin are in the game, I've seen/hired both. They're the only astronauts with pictures.

I tested it, and it works. The only "bug" is that the astronauts will appear in the game in random order.

Only Nacho84 can do something will the random...

a fixed list is not a problem, recruiting buzz in 56 is more a problem...

how can we add pictures to them? can we mod this as well? There is an attribute for Buzz, so there shouldn´t be a problem to add it to the others

EDIT: well the portrait is not a simple jpeg or png, but Buzz Aldrin.unity3d.... so maybe in next patch... and maybe impossible because of the licence...

By the way, at least one controller's name is a rather deliciously atrocious pun. Are there more than the one I've encountered?
